A thing I heard somebody say on the Oprah Winfrey show is: “Keep in your mind what you want, not what you don’t want”. To me that is the secret. That is the key to success!

But that is too easy, you say? Well think about it. If you think there is no chance that the thing you are working on will succeed – then it most likely won’t. Why? Not because it is a bad business that you were working on, no because the guy next door made a killing out of it. What is it then? It is the fact that you thought, and you believed, that it cannot work. And believe me: if you think often enough that something will not work – it most likely will not work. You kept in your mind that has no chance. You want it to have no chance. You kept in your mind what you want!

So what is the answer then? You must think: I can make this work, I will make this work. This is the key. If you think long enough that you can succeed, you most likely will find a way to succeed!

Ever heard the saying: “Keep your eyes on the ball”? Well that is the same thing – you have to get motivated (and please do not tell me I have to motivate you, you have to do this for yourself!) I once heard that people hit cats eyes in the road with their cars because they focus on the cats eye! Focus on the space in between the cats eyes and you will very likely hit the space between the cats eyes. Try it out for yourself.

Now here is the thing: “Keep in your mind what you want, not what you don’t want”

Ever heard about “positive thinking”? The brain is a very powerful tool in the arsenal of the human body. It can drive you to success. All that is needed is you have to believe you can be successful. If you start off believing that you can’t then what is the use? you can rather stop before you even try.

So many people told me: yes but I can not sell anything. I am not a salesman.

Do you know what? You are not one and you will never be one! How can I say that?

Easy: because you believe you can not sell anything so your efforts will be half baked from the word go. You keep in your mind the words: “I can not sell anything. I am not a salesman” and therefore you want not to be a salesman! And what you want you mostly get. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy!

Now –on the other hand you get the person. who says to himself: I want to be a good salesman. I want to succeed at this. He keeps in his mind what he wants. he says to himself: “I am a good salesman”. You know what: he will succeed in selling because he believes in himself!

There are different ways of getting yourself to believe something: things like what are your goals in life? Your goals can be the most powerful motivator to change your mind and keep yourself focused on your target. Then you say to yourself: what can I do to achieve that goal? And if, what you have to do to achieve it is not currently in your mind, you write down what your goals are and what you have to do to achieve it and put it in a place where you can see it every day. To keep it in your mind. And believe me this works. it helps you keep it in your mind. It helps keeping you focused on what you have to do to reach your goals – and when you stray – that is all right too. You just read it again and keep on going.

On the Internet there are so many opportunities at so little cost. It is too easy to give up on something. You do not have lots invested in it and it is no skin off your nose to drop it. So many people joins a program and gives up even before they read all the instructions! So here is the thing: you have to keep in your mind what you want. Set yourself a goal, know what you have to do to get there and then stick to it. Do not simply drop it. Just do it and keep on doing it. Until you get it right.
